This is my favorite cream that I have been using for one year since I tried it during my trip to Greece. It works very good for my slightly dehydrated skin. Thank you for this product and all your help with delivery!

Face cream with infusion of mountain tea (sideritis), with strong antioxidant and protective action. Moisturises, tightens and regenerates the skin thanks to the combination of its tonic ingredients, which are hyaluronic acid, resveratrol, flaxseed extract, ivy and black pine oil and vitamin E. It soothes the complexion and provides daily facial care.

Black pine and ivy oil are rich in antioxidants. These oils make the face cream ideal for tightening and strengthening tissues and gradually reducing wrinkles.

Resveratrol also appears to have a beneficial effect on aging skin. When used in combination with hyaluronic acid, the results are unique. The skin acquires a smoother appearance, while its hydration does not let it dry out.

But what is less known is that mountain tea can also be used externally, especially in face creams.

There isn't much literature yet, but some research already shows that mountain tea rejuvenates skin cells. It also moisturizes the skin and is therefore an ally of youth since it does not allow photoaging.

HERBAL GARDEN

All the oil extracts (infusion oils) contained in our creams are produced in the monastery. The extraction is mainly made by heat-infusion. The herbs are immersed in their carrier oils in stipulated analogies and controlled temperature by the means of up-to-date equipment. Along with the oil extracts, glycerin and hydroalcoholic extracts are also being deployed. The active constituents of the herbal extracts are boosted by other basic materials like panthenol, aloe vera and glycerin which are known for their efficacy in skin care. This way, the effectiveness of the creams is intensified and the greatest result when applied is ensured.

The combination of the aromatic herbs, and, by extension, of their extracts in the ointments is based on scientific research and advice of specialists in collaboration with the Monastery. Above all, the ten-year feedback the Sisters had been given from people who benefited from the products is of invaluable assistance in their efforts.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The cream has been enriched with mountain tea both in aqua and in glycerin extract form. Moreover, the active ingredients infused in the cream provide boosted tonic properties for damaged and aging skin. The ingredients include: Linum extract, Pinus nigra extract, Ivy oil, Resveratrol, Hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E.

Sideritis

The genus Sideritis (Lamiaceae) comprises more than 140 species and subspecies mainly flourishing in the Northern Hemisphere in regions near the Mediterranean. Studies have been conducted on both herbal extractions of Sideritis and the chemical components found in them. The aim of the studies was the evaluation of the therapeutic properties, e.g. the antioxidant characteristics, as well as the antiviral, antimicrobial and antifungal effects. Aristoteles had described Sideritis as tonic, yet it is free of caffeine, while Dioskourides appraised and classified Sideritis as antioxidant and antimicrobial. The herbal properties are attributed to the high concentration of polyphenols, terpenoids and hydrocarbons found in its extract. It is alleged that two or three cups of tea per day fortifies the immune system. It is also beneficial for the prevention and the treatment of flu, digestive disorders and ailments related to stress and fatigue. As for its external application, Sideritis combats the early signs of wrinkles, it regenerates skin cells, leaving the epidermis moisturized and elastic, and finally, it protects against photoaging.

Linseed Extract

Linum usitatissimum is a significant herbal source of omega 3 fatty acids. α-Linolenic acid has been proven to present a soothing effect on skin. Moreover, Polyunsaturated fatty acids include oleic, linoleic, palmitic, stearic acid which support skin hydration by inhibiting the loss of moisture. As Linum penetrates the upper layers of the skin, it transfers other benevolent elements such as Vitamin E.

Black Pine Oil

Pinus nigra is rich in antioxidant compounds, like epicatechin as well as gallocatechin, that act against metalloproteinases. These enzymes are responsible for the collagen and other protein gradual break up resulting in tissue deterioration and aging. Applying pinus nigra regularly reduces the appearance of wrinkles and sagging, and significantly increases the firmness and elasticity of the skin.

Ivy Oil

Hippocrates used ivy not only to prevent intoxication and reduce swelling but also as an anesthetic. Ivy oil is effective in stimulating blood circulation. Two components of its oil extract have been mostly researched: Triterpenoid saponins and flavonoids. Triterpenoid saponins combats bacteria whereas flavonoids remove toxins from the body and tighten and strengthen blood vessels.Die Triterpenoidseifen und Flavonoide sind die beiden wichtigsten Bestandteile dieser Pflanze.

Resveratrol

Resveratrol is a natural phenol which is found in high concentrations in the skin of grapes, in the leaves of eucalyptus, berries and fir. It manifests high antioxidant ability and there is also scientific evidence that it slows down skin aging.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronan, is naturally released by the body. It is a clear, gooey substance mainly found in skin, connective tissue and eyes. Its main function is to retain water, to keep tissues well lubricated and moist. Hyaluronic acid has a variety of applications. Many people take it as a food supplement, but its major use is for the benefit of the skin. Hyaluronic acid prevents the drop of the water percentage because of the exposure to ultraviolet radiation or pollution, assuring the essential hydration. Hydrated skin slows down the appearance of wrinkles, rash and ameliorates dermatitis which explains why scientific research has shown that the use of Hyaluronic acid makes epidermis be firmer.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a vital nutritional element in the human organism as it strengthens the immune system and promotes the generation of cells. It also possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Vitamin E is beneficial for skin health and appearance. It can be applied topically to face to reduce inflammation and maintain a youthful skin.
