HERBAL GARDEN

All the oil extracts (infusion oils) contained in our creams are produced in the monastery. The extraction is mainly made by heat-infusion. The herbs are immersed in their carrier oils in stipulated analogies and controlled temperature by the means of up-to-date equipment. Along with the oil extracts, glycerin and hydroalcoholic extracts are also being deployed. The active constituents of the herbal extracts are boosted by other basic materials like panthenol, aloe vera and glycerin which are known for their efficacy in skin care. This way, the effectiveness of the creams is intensified and the greatest result when applied is ensured.

The combination of the aromatic herbs, and, by extension, of their extracts in the ointments is based on scientific research and advice of specialists in collaboration with the Monastery. Above all, the ten-year feedback the Sisters had been given from people who benefited from the products is of invaluable assistance in their efforts.

Aloe Barbadensis Miller

Aloe Vera is one of the most widely used herbs for topical skin conditions. The jelly-like constituents enhance skin recovery after minor ailments like sunburns, small cuts and abrasions. Of the 420 different species and subspecies, Aloe Barbadensis is the one mostly used for therapeutic preparations.

Benefits of Aloe

Burns

Aloe Vera gel is recommended to be applied to minor burns up to three times a day. The affected area can be covered with a gauze for better results. Even though Aloe Vera treats sunburns, it doesn’t prevent them. Aloe Vera relieves pain and burning sensation brought about by small abrasions, as well.

Wounds

The molecular structure of Aloe Vera boosts wound healing, decreases scars by promoting collagen production and combats bacteria.

Hydration

Aloe Vera is ideal for oily or dry skin as its gel is easily absorbed. Aloe Vera can be helpful for the treatment of inflamed acne, e.g. pustules and nodules.

Recommendations

In cases of dry skin, applying aloe Vera after washing one’s hands throughout the day might prove to be beneficial. Avoid contact with sensitive areas, eyes, lips, and nose.
